🔍What will be covered in each of these courses?

📚 What is GBV? (3 course series)

This course series is broken down into three courses.

1️⃣ In Understanding GBV in Higher Education, students will learn:  

  • Details about the state of gender-based violence on college campuses including some important statistics that illuminate the dire problem of gender-based violence.
  • Details about how prevention and intervention are carried out on campuses, including federal interventions.

2️⃣ In Understanding Prevalence, students will learn:

  • Details on the prevalence of GBV in general, as well as the prevalence of GBV by race.
  • Details on how the prevalence of GBV differs from state to state.

 3️⃣ In Defining GBV, students will learn:

  • The definition of GBV, the different types of sexual violence, and the negative consequences of experiencing GBV.

📚 Mental Health Impacts of GBV

This course will educate students on identifying effects of GBV on mental health. This course will empower students to better support victims of GBV.

Research indicates that those who experience gender-based violence are more likely to suffer from mental illnesses such as: Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, decreased self-esteem, depression, and suicidal behavior.

Specifically, this course focuses on the impacts against women and against the LGBTQ+ community.

📚 Careers that Help

This course will educate students on the many career paths within the context of GBV . This course will empower students to understand what it takes to pursue careers that help in mental health.

Students will learn about many mental health careers that can help heal the scars of GBV, and examine how these careers that help, help.

This course offers guidance on how to pursue careers in mental health and how to  get experience, and other practical tips.

📚 Gender-based Microaggressions

Students who complete this course will become a positive force to reduce microaggressions  the will be agents of change in building a better world.
