    • Learn advice to protect yourself and others from becoming targeted by predators, and on taking legal action and how to report these crimes.

    • Learn how student activism can be a powerful force in bringing about change and what current students can do to contribute to causes.

🔍What will be covered in each of these courses?

📚 Safe Space Online Privacy

This course will educate students with an introduction to cyberstalking. This course will empower students to protect their information and prevent cyberstalking.

In this course, students will learn the following:

  • Definition of cyberstalking
  • How to recognize cyberstalking
  • How to address cyberstalking
  • Importance of documenting instances of cyberstalking and tools that can help
  • Additionally, students will learn how to prevent their information from falling into the hands of cyberstalkers.

📚 Stalking, Cyberstalking, Sextortion and Revengeporn

This course will educate students on internet related sex crimes based in GBV. This course will empower students to protect themselves and their loved ones from these crimes.

This course is divided into five main sections and additional resources.

1️⃣ In Background, students will learn:  

  • Definitions of Stalking, Cyberstalking, Sextortion, Revengeporn, and Femicide
  • The incidence, prevalence and mortality rates of these crimes

2️⃣ In Victimology and Criminology, students will gain understanding of:

  • Tactics used in traditional and cyberstalking, sextortion and revengeporn
  • Mental health and medical impacts in the context of stalking and cyberstalking, sextortion and revengeporn
  • Economic and social impacts

 3️⃣ In Prevention, students will learn:

  • Methods to prevent these crimes and advice on how to protect themselves from becoming targets of predators in the context of stalking, cyberstalking, sextortion and revengeporn.

4️⃣ In Awareness and Law, students will learn:

  • Societal awareness, advocates and movements
  • Details on laws in place to punish culprits of these crimes

5️⃣ In Action, students will learn:

  • Advice on taking legal action and reporting these crimes
  • Resources to support victims of these crimes, on college campus and in the workplace
